Although most of injury and accident cases we handle eminate here in Broward County, we handle a smaller number of cases in Palm Beach and Dade County, throughout Florida, and even some nationwide. If you are unable to come to our office, we can come to your home in North Lauderdale (or anywhere in South Florida) and also meet with you in the hospital.
Do you know the best steps to take after an accident caused by the negligence of another?
Whether it is a car accident, slip and fall or any other accident, it is of utmost importance that we get you to who we think are top medical doctors or medical providers to assist you in your recovery from your injury and hopefully at the same time enhance the value of your case. Often times, people are unsure if they have a personal injury case. The best way to assess if you have a personal injury case is by contacting a personal injury firm and going over the details of your case.
Our personal injury firm does not require an in-person appointment to see if you have a case. You can simply call our office and speak to someone immediately. An attorney will be informed immediately by the staff of the facts of your case. After your free consultation with a staff member, a lawyer in our firm will determine whether it is a case our office will handle. Our personal injury firm works on a contingency fee basis, meaning you pay nothing unless our attorneys can obtain recovery for your case.
If we are successful in obtaining financial recovery for your case, a percentage of the settlement money will go to attorney fees and costs. Due to the varying circumstances of each personal injury case, it’s hard to say how long your case will take. However, factors that contribute to the length of your personal injury case include but are not limited to the severity of your injuries, the time it takes for you to recover from your injuries, and the details pertaining to the accident.
If you expect to know how much your accident case is worth right away, it’s not going to happen in most cases. And if an attorney gives you a dollar value of your case during your initial interview, chances are he/she is not being honest and that should be a red flag to seek another personal injury attorney. The fact is that the value of your case depends on so many factors that develop after your accident, most of which cannot be determined until we have spent some time on your case.
First Time Filing a Personal Injury Case
If this is your first time filing a personal injury case, there are few things you should consider before hiring a personal injury lawyer. Firstly, be sure that your attorney has experience handling personal injury cases. Simply looking at years of experience is not enough. It’s in your best interest to see if the attorney has court room experience and has a track record of successful results. The head attorney of our personal injury firm, Dan Cytryn, has tried more than 100 personal injury jury trials, and has achieved more than ten million dollar verdicts and settlements in his career. To see examples of results, see our case results page.
In addition, make sure your attorney has the financial resources to take your case. To begin any personal injury case, the attorney must front costs for investigations, records and other documents, etc. If the case requires filing a law suit, the attorney will have to front additional costs such as a jury simulation, which is a company that performs a mock jury and helps the attorney evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the case. Attorney Dan Cytryn has his own mock jury company called, Case Evaluation, Inc., Not all personal injury lawyers do jury simulations, however, it is a good way to tell if your attorney has financial resources.
